Product Description

Chloroxylenol, also known as para chloro meta xylenol (PCMX) and 4-chloro-3,5-dimethylphenol, is a preservative and disinfectant mainly used for skin disinfection and cleaning of surgical instruments. It can also be used for various household disinfectants and wound cleaners.
The side effects of chloroxylenol are generally rare, but can include irritation to the skin. It can be mixed with water or alcohol for use. For Gram positive bacteria, chloroxylenol is the most effective as it kills the bacteria by causing damage to the cell wall and stopping enzyme function.
Chloroxylenol is the World Health Organization's list of essential drugs and the most important drug in the basic health system. The wholesale cost in developing countries is approximately $2 to $6.20 per liter for every 5% solution. It is applied to multiple major brands, such as Dettol in the UK and Vallux in China.
